A Comparison of Two Different Still Life's in Different periods.
In this report I will discuss two different still life's, and explain their differences, and similarities. I will attempt to explain the meaning and general feeling that each work of art gave me. I chose these because they caught my eye, and they had very intricate meanings that had to be found.

The skull symbolizes death, and the expired lamp, symbolizes that hope is gone, it's over. The cup symbolizes that he drank, and was drunk most of the time. The pen is a sign of expression. The writer had an unfulfilled artistic ambition. His life left suddenly, the painting represents the shortness of life, how one could die any minute. The only way to immortalize yourself is to create something that people will remember you by.
