Instead of killing herself as would be expected by a lady
jilted, she would rather to commit murder.
In “ A rose for Emily” the protagonist is Miss Emily and
the antagonists are the town folks. The readers learn from
this story that the patriarchal society, can lead an oppressed
woman to murder.
