Achilles
Aeneas, the Trojan hero most adored, second only to Hector, by his
comrades, is an Achilles figure in this passage. Aeneas is one of the
most closely resembling characters to Achilles. Both are young men with
mortal fathers but divine mothers. Both are revered by men and gods, both
renowned for their fighting ability, and both display their great pride in
certain situations. Achilles withdraws from battle because one of his

friends so that they would miss him and beg him to return. Aeneas returns
to battle swiftly, without taking into account how angry he is at King
Priam. Aeneas is how a hero should be. He places his duty to protect his
land and friends before all else.
