These were published by newspapers across the country. Finally, in 1926, the Butlers died. She died on November 3 and Butler died November 21. Both died of natural causes after a long and adventuresome life. Annie Oakley, a champion shooter and star of Buffalo Bill's Wild West, is remembered as a western folk hero and American legend.
