She is sacrificial, her life paid for Polyneices’ burial. Lastly she is brave; Antigone did what no other would do: stand up to the rival male gender, stand up to the king, and speak out from the crowd. Faced with the penalty of horrible death, whom else but a hero could accomplish what Antigone did?
