…showed last 75 words of 983 total…we normally say that slavery and freedom are opposite things -that they are diametrically opposed. But what we see here in Virginia in the late 17th century, around Bacon's Rebellion, is that freedom and slavery were created at the same moment. This revolutionary event was not only a prologue to the American Revolution but also influenced governmental procedures and foreign policies throughout the world, thus becoming the most significant event leading towards modern representative democracy.
