…showed last 75 words of 414 total…and the surrounding area. The Renaissance eventually spawned from this area of Italy, and Venice eventually were recongnized as the kings of trade once again.
The Crusades, though in the beginning, was to empower the Christians and defeat the Muslims. The true benefactors, though, were those of northen Italy. The Crusades led to the eventual fall of the Byzantine Empire, shifting the power in Europe back to the west, changing the course of European history.
