Introduction
I first came into contact with the issue of Cerebral Palsy when a very close friend of mine, who is a speech therapist, started working with children with severe communication impairment. Through her I was able to discover how people with Cerebral Palsy managed to communicate in spite of their limitations.

But while we wait for a miracle to unveil the complex workings of the human brain that will surely be crucial to the discovery of many issues related to Speech Disorders and Specific Language Impairment, we should start by being aware of the fact that people who are mentally impaired need our help to communicate considering that Augmentative Communication Devices can aid them greatly but that they need our help to be integrated to society.
