Human sexuality is a large factor in relationships between American and Samoan cultures. The Samoans embrace sexual relations while American societies tend to disassociate the importance of sex in relationships. Looking at sex more freely may ease the transitions that the adolescents go through while entering adult hood. Adolescent experimentation amongst the Samoans is an example of their sexual freedom and exploration.
