A clear example of this fact is when the right of "life" is completely taken away by giving a person accused of murder gets the death penalty at his trial.

not a viable document in our modern times mainly because it is not put to practice. Much of the things that it stands for we, the government and people, violate today. The unalienable rights mentioned in the historical document are violated everyday with war, racism, vengeance, abortion, corrupt government and juridical official, and finally the Death Penalty, the latter which violates the most important gift and right a human being has. The right to LIVE.
