Death, if it is to be personified at all, is a charlatan, for all life does not truly end with death, it is just the beginning. Death no longer has a sting; its domination has been consumed by life eternal. The speaker, when he personifies Death and reduces it to a lowly slave, states for all time the assurance that one day, Death will meet its demise.
