When I think of domestic abuse I think of television shows like Jerry Springer and Maury. Today, Americans turn stories of domestic violence into entertainment. Personally, I think it’s utterly disgusting. Domestic violence is an issue that isn’t taken as seriously as it should be. Although, I’m sure most of these shows are scripted, how do they reflect on American society?

Children being raised in a violent household tend to grow up more violent. Children learn from their parents, and if all a child knows is a violent family, then how is that child going to react in the real world?
Domestic violence is an important issue that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Too many innocent people are being emotionally, physically, or sexually abused because their abuser is emotionally unstable.
