In the following essay I will be analysing and exploring the ways that Shakespeare presents issues with marriage and male and female relationships. I believe that the men in The Taming of the Shrew are more dominant and therefore respected unlike the female characters.

This shows that Kate has really understood the importance of her marriage to Petruchio and respects him in a way she never knew she could. Kate then goes on to say that the husband only asks for his wife's obedience and kindness in which is such a small payment for such a "great debt"
