ruined because of the accident with Gene. The accident ruined his athletic life and ruined his dream of fighting in the war. The most devastating part for Finny was Gene’s confessing of the intent and jealousy. Gene was unaware of how Finny was devastated by this. He was no longer scared physically but emotionally as well.
