If spectators get out of hand a coach may have to get on the PA system and tell the fans to settle down, sop throwing objects, or whatever. The book says that a visiting team should be treated like guests when they come to play their team, so overly insulting opposing referees, coaches, players, mascots, fans, and cheerleaders should be avoided.
