The poem is written as if it is a newspaper article since its shows no sympathy for the victims or anger towards the attackers and witnesses. Edwin Morgan has written the poem with no judgment, yet it is still factual. The reader actually feels as if they are at the scene of the incident, which makes the poem easier to understand.
