Grendel and Dry Lips
In John Gardner’s Grendel, he portrays Grendel as a vicious monster at
first; only killing for pure joy. He has the feeling and intentions of a murderer. Dickie Bird Halked, of Tomson Highway’s play, “Dry Lips Oughta Move To
Kapuskasing,” is not a murderer though. Yet they both make similar violent

…showed last 75 words of 838 total…that people who are not monsters can turn into a monster if they are jealous. Both characters were jealous because they saw something that they liked, but they could not have it. They became very violent, making sure that no one would be able to enjoy what these two women had to offer.
