When teachers are too focused on being liked and not focused on their job they can stray from the reason they are teaching. The biggest influence this has is in college freshmen. Changing grades and setting new deadlines for particular students are just a few examples. These hurt students because in college professors may not do the same. If teachers continue to focus on being liked students will be ill prepared for college.
