From the earliest days of British occupation of Australia, the Government allowed the removal of Aboriginal children from their families. These children are known as the 'stolen generation.' They were raised in institutions, or fostered out to white families. But, either way, the results for the Stolen Generation were just as traumatic and emotionally scarring. As well as the experiences the parents were put through, losing their child, many, never to see them again. So, whether the motivation behind this Government policy was a noble one or not, the results are the same.
