Hungary turned against the Hapsburgs as Ferdinand's commanders had the bishops assassinated. Hungary posed a problem to the Hapsburgs during this time, however it seems the least important factor in the Caroline foreign policy as it did not involve Charles. It was Ferdinand who campaigned for his claim to the Hungarian throne and Charles was never involved in this.
