Attitudes, naivety and passivity were the main reasons why Jews were responsible for their own fate. The conditions of the ghettos were all bleak and broke the spirits of the population, leaving them with no hope. With next to no resistance and sub standard conditions in the ghettos, this made the German’s task in deporting and subsequently liquidating the Jews much easier.
