harm a innocent creature. It was a sin to kill the young soldier. The poem gave
the reader the feeling that he was a noble, honest, and kind hearted man. A
person with those qualities does not deserve to be murdered. It is a sin to kill
any innocent creature and Henry Longfellow demonstrated that belief in his
poem “Killed at the Ford.”
