In this article Juan Flores describes many ways the terms Latino and Hispanic could be implemented. According to Flores, it has been suggested that “Latinos” be used to refer to citizens from a Spanish speaking world living in the United States and “Hispanics” to those living elsewhere. In my opinion, distinguishing the meaning of both Latino and Hispanic with complete community agreement is impossible. I feel that any persons that consider themselves Latino or Hispanic

sister and brother consider themselves Latino. I have taken a few Mexican American Studies classes and most of my fellow young classmates use the term Latino to portray their ethnicity. So I find that the younger generation of Mexican Americans prefer the term Latino and the older generation prefer Hispanic. But when it comes down to it, it really only matters what you feel the term you use to define your ethnicity really does mean.
