He also states that there is a “striking similarity between the city states of the fifteenth-century Italy and the great corporations of the last half of the twentieth century” (McAlpine xiii). It is because of these reasons mentioned that I feel that Machiavelli is a modern man, and also why I feel that McAlpine would agree with this argument.
