The reign of Mary Tudor did not provide England with leadership it needed at a time of chaos in the church. King Henry VIII is partly responsible for Mary’s failure as queen because his reformation focused exclusively on politics and not religion. Mary Tudor I died in London on November 17, 1558, and was succeeded by a magnificent queen in Elizabeth I.
