Monroe Doctorine
The Monroe Doctorine is a statement of United States policy on the activities
and right of European power in the western hemisphere.
The Monroe Doctorine was made my President James Monroe in his seventh
annual address to the Congress of the United States on December 2, 1823. At
first, it remained only a declaration of policy, but its growing use and popularity
made it to be a principle.

As a component of foreign policy, the Monroe Doctorine has had considerable
effect and has had strong support in the United States.
