Jocasta, out of shame, hangs herself as a result of Oedipus’ new knowledge. When Oedipus finds her, he pieces his own eyes with gold pins. Creon enters and Oedipus realizes his accusations against him were wrong. But Creon is a compassionate man and offers consolation. He agrees to give a proper funeral for Jocasta and care for the two daughters.
