In the poem “We Real Cool”, the author, Gwendolyn Brooks describes students that constantly take high risks and put themselves in danger unknowingly. The author also adds that just because he is colored, that doesn’t mean that he will seriously stand out in huge way. He believes that whites definitely are above blacks, but that they are all Americans, and are forced to get along and be equal on some kind of level.
