When this accelerant is ignited the explosion forces hot exhaust gases through the nozzle, pushing the rocket forward. Next comes the delay. This makes a trail of smoke come out and allows the rocket to coast to its apogee, or peak of flight. Then comes the ejection charge. This forces the parachute out of the tube. It then gently floats down to earth.
