Somebody had to speak up, and say we are your equals, we have our rights, and we are not your property. That someone was Frederick Douglass. Frederick Douglass was one of the foremost leaders of the abolitionist movement, which fought to end slavery. A brilliant speaker, Douglass was asked to engage in many tours to give lecture about anti-slavery.
