the Indians. The Jesuits were supposed to help the tribes and yet they broke down their beliefs, subsequently destroying their culture. Father Laforgue’s mission was that of helping the Huron, and yet 15 years later they were wiped out by their enemies, slaughtered and killed by the Iroquois. One must ask themselves how much damage the Jesuits caused and the differences that would still exist today if they had never come to the Canadian territories.
