things that went on in everyday life, but not normal things. He photographed police scenes, transvestites, midgets and another abnormal thing he could find. It was how he composed his photographs that caught the attention of the public eye. People wanted to see Weegee’s work; they were mystified by what they saw in his photographs. Weegee did not do portraits or landscape photography, instead he captured the essence of life as it was happening.
