In William Mitchell’s essay, he makes the distinction between “virtual communities” and “site-specific communities”. He describes what these cities are about and how they will benefit people. However, the biggest trades off that will occur will the lack of practicing social skills. People won’t be able to ask questions person to person or engage into person to person converation. People won’t have as many friends as they did before all this started.
