"The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison, is an adaptation of how oppression emotionally and psychologically impacts a young girl named Pecola. Pecola was oppressed by society, by her community, and by her own family. As a result her reality is subjectively based on the premise that if she could have "blue eyes" she would then be revered by all of her oppressors. Through trails and tribulations, Mary Jane Has difficulty being something she's not as well as dealing with her own hatred for her own race.
