John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts to Joseph Patrick Kennedy, a bank president, and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, the daughter of the Boston mayor. The Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in 1965 were passed after Kennedy's death. Kennedy's politics were so moderate that he appealed to both Democrats and Republicans. He was eloquent, intelligent and good-looking and all of this helped to foster one of the greatest American Presidents in history.
