William Blake’s poem “The Chimney Sweeper” from his Songs of Innocence is, at first glance, a sad story, but when then end of the poem nears, the reader is reminded of the happy experiences the boys will one day have. Also, Blake raises awareness of the child labor in his time. Thank God we have moved past this ugly time in our history. Injustices like this no longer need to be feared.
