…showed last 75 words of 969 total…become a despicable design to many people. It is inappropriate, if not completely offensive, to have this flag represent the very people who have suffered by it. The flag must be removed from the state capitol immediately. As John K. Alexander, a University of Cincinnati history professor said, “Flags are powerful symbols because people care about them… As long as South Carolina continues to fly the flag, it will continue to be a volatile issue.”
