In answering the question of whether or not homosexuals should be allowed in the military it is necessary to first resolve the question of whether or not this action compromises the military's effectiveness or the abilities of those involved. Homosexuals have previously served effectively and with distinction in the military. More importantly, they have served without compromise and are capable of continuing to do so. Any problems would therefore be more a consequence of "homophobia" rather than homosexuality, and so their enlistment should not be in question.
