When I first read the title of this poem, I was thinking of a romance. I thought this poem would be about a couple finding A Common Ground during their relationship. Quite a few thoughts went through my mind, and I pictured my parents, my sister and her husband, my brother and his wife, my newlywed sister, and my brother who has recently had his heart broken. …showed last 75 words of 434 total…work that I am able to connect with in a personal way. When I read the lines written by this poet I can picture her looking at herself in a mirror with a little bit of surprise on her face, while she notices those similarities to her ancestry. A common ground can be found in a lot of places, I am grateful to this author for pointing out this type of common ground to me.
