"Treasure Island" Set in the days of sails and ships, buried treasure and pirates, Treasure Island is an epic tale of a young boy by the name of Hawkins, and his search for the buried treasure of the notorious Captain Flint. Treasure Island is written by Robert Louis Stevenson (1850 - 94), his other texts include The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and Kidnapped. …showed last 75 words of 1172 total…Jim's life, he does it only to ensure that Jim will be a witness and save him from hanging when they return to civilisation. He then abandons his shipmates and fellow pirates, rejoining the squire, the doctor and the captain. Long John changes sides only when he feels that he will get the better end of the bargain. Despite the use of coincidence in the novel I found "Treasure Island" an adventurous and worthwhile read.
