The First World War was one of the most horrifying the world has ever seen. Lasting between 1914 and 1918 the impact is such that many of the repercussions can still be seen as late on as today. An accumulation of all these reasons was what eventually led to the end of the war. Any of these reasons alone would not have had the impact that they all did, as bit by bit the German forces were broken down until they had not choice but to surrender and sign the treaty of Versailles.
